For 5,000 years herbal soups have been carefully developed and mastered across centuries of Chinese history, culture, and food. The essence of herbal soups is to use herbal plants in everyday cooking to help bring health, balance, and happiness. The combination of these ingredients is believed to remedy and bring balance to the body, mind, and spirit, as well as boosting the immune system. There is a Chinese saying, “医食同源”, which means food and herbal medicine are from the same root, a balance of nutrition through diet.
